Latur based Shabbir is the only son in his family. His old, illiterate parents are farmers by profession.
Shabbir is an autorickshaw driver and one day an ST Bus driver overtook him and collided with his rickshaw causing it damage. Their argument turned into a fight and he got arrested for assaulting an on-duty public servant (U/S 353 of IPC). He was in Latur Jail for almost 5 Months and during that period, there was nobody to take care of his family. Prison life can be lonely and depressing. Behind the bars, Shabbir lost his freedom and was hopeless as he could not arrange for his bail amount.
GCF examined his case and analyzed the circumstances which led Shabbir to engage into the conflict, and paid his Cash bail amount of Rs. 15,000/- for release.
