Amrapali Gaikwad (F, 28) faced severe harassment from her in-laws for dowry, and under extreme duress and pressure She committed a crime and was arrested along with her husband U/S 381 and 411 and put in Thane Jail. Her in-laws got her husband released and left her alone to languish in jail. She had to stay behind the bars for 6 months and her 2.5 yrs old daughter had been left neglected during this period. After verification GCF ascertained that she is not a habitual criminal and helped her get released on bail.
